Adventures in Big Bend National Park
Written by Dana Stuart- Illustrated by Denise Turu - Published by Amazon
A young boy’s look at Big Bend National Park. By enjoying the desert and mountain landscape, stargazing, visiting an adobe cottage with no running water or electricity, he grows closer to the Texas landscape.
He goes to Terlingua and has an experience in the cemetery on Dia de Los Muertos and also swims in
the Rio Grande River, thinking about how borders and connections work between USA and Mexico.

"This is a fun adventure story that captures the magic of the park through the eyes of a child. We camped out in Big Bend just a few weeks before this book was published, so it was a perfect way for my 7-year-old son to remember highlights of our trip. Beautiful illustrations too. Thanks for a great book that helps educate kids about a true Texas treasure!"

We love National Parks and sharing them with our kids. This book is age appropriate but older kids (and adults) will still enjoy it and learn from it. I love that a veteran teacher wrote it! It fosters a love of exploring and learning in the world as well as a deep respect for our environment and parks. The illustrations are beautiful and the book is high quality paper with a glossy paper cover.
